Not All Factory Built Homes Are Built the Same

Many people believe that all factory built homes are built the same.  It's not true!!!  Not all factory built homes are built to the same quality and specs.  Standards vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. 

This is a confusing truth.  There are often customers that price shop.  And unfortunately, they often get what they pay for.  Some homes, at any cost, are over-priced.

It is difficult to understand all the details that are listed in some web sites and brochures.  For example, the other day I visited a web site and they mentioned, 2 x 6 Floor joist 16" O.C. (On Center), 2 x 6 Exterior Wall 16" O.C., and a 2 x 4 Interior Wall.  It did not list the 2 x 4 Interior Wall is 16" O.C.  And it is not 16" O.C.-it is 24" O.C. 

But they list the outer wall and floor joist first and rely on your sub conscience to make the assumption.  And we all know what happens when we assume.  If it does not say 16" O.C. it is not built that way.

Don't be misled or tricked into a home without the right information.

Some manufacturer's homes are built and finished with a paneled interior wall.  I have even seen a few manufacturers that provide sheet rock as an option, but the bathrooms are not included.  It is disclosed in the fine print of the home description, but the print is so small and it is listed in the middle of a huge paragraph it is likely that you won’t read it.
